A diverse and vibrant town ideal for families and commuters.

Welcome to Woodbridge

Centrally located in Middlesex County, Woodbridge township spans 27 square miles and includes ten different unincorporated sections: Woodbridge, Avenel, Colonia, Sewaren, Iselin, Fords, Menlo Park Terrace, Keasbey, Port Reading, and Hopelawn. The Woodbridge neighborhood is a suburban and developing section with ample things to do and plenty of restaurants to explore.
Woodbridge was settled in 1664 and chartered by King Charles II of England in 1669. A major draw to the area is the town’s efficient transportation system, as this neighborhood is tucked along the major New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. Many commuters call Woodbridge home for its proximity to New York City, and even New Brunswick, and find commute times relatively quick. The housing options in Woodbridge are just as diverse as the neighborhood as well — choose from simple, single-family homes in a neighborhood, luxury condos or apartments, and large, colonial estates. Most of the homes are at least 40 years old, but many have seen major updates and renovations through the years. Woodbridge is the ideal location for young families, professionals, and those seeking more affordable options outside of New York City.
Restaurants in the area range from “mom-and-pop” shops to upscale dining. Visit Strawberry’s Pub & Pizza, the go-to destination for cold beers, major sporting events, and private parties. Kona Grill offers classic American fare, creative sushi rolls, and excellent margaritas. Everything is made from scratch, in-house, using local ingredients. If you’re looking to glimpse the local flavor of Woodbridge, visit its first operating brewery, J.J. Bitting Brewing Company. Located in a beautifully restored 100-year-old building, J.J.’s caters to the whole family and offers handcrafted beer and fine foods.

For entertainment, Woodbridge has it all. Visit Dave & Busters, the perfect place to catch a game and enjoy the diverse menu and drink options. Catch up with friends and play some of their retro arcade games. The Woodbridge Center Mall has more than 140 specialty stores and family-friendly activities for the kids. If you’re looking for a unique date night or party idea, make a reservation at Bury the Hatchet, Woodbridge’s ax-throwing extravaganza. Finally, the Woodbridge Community Center is the neighborhood’s go-to destination for family fun and recreation. Enjoy ice skating rinks and hockey games, full gyms and fitness classes, basketball courts, Olympic-sized pools, and mini-golf.
