Located in Middlesex County, Piscataway is a small community in the heart of the Raritan Valley. As a major bedroom suburb of New York City, life in Piscataway is diverse and vibrant while maintaining an old-world charm and quaint atmosphere. A suburban community, Piscataway is surrounded by parks and is home to two campuses of Rutgers University. Comprising 19.1 square miles and home to 61,000 residents, Piscataway is an ideal destination for commuters (located 35 miles from New York City) and young professionals as the area continues to develop and broaden its mark on the tech industries. With Rutgers being a major draw as well, the community is home to hundreds of students, professors, scientists, and medical professionals. 
Piscataway was founded in 1666 and incorporated in 1798 and was home to the first national 4th of July celebration in 1778. In 2019, Money Magazine listed this charming community as one of the best places to live in the country and was featured in AARP’s special magazine “Where We Live: Communities for All Ages” for its innovative services to the neighborhood's senior citizens. Piscataway is home to Rutgers University Preserve, the Busch and Livingston Campus, and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. With these campuses (and over 180 buildings spread throughout the neighborhood), Piscataway is home to many unique university events throughout the year and offers innovative studies, programs, and experiences for students and community members.
